My business development experience spans 20 years with the launch of two record labels in 1991. One could argue this record company can be considered a technology company of sorts as all productions were made by a computer and midi units. I programmed and produced all the songs.

In 2001 I moved from London to Cape Town, South Africa where I started the Internet company Cape Go, which was heralded as a future potential great IT company by the South African Department of Trade and Industry, after I created the worlds first Virtual World/Tour in Flash, opening the door in 2003 to a very rare exception in work permit rules, which allowed me to do business without investing the mandatory $300,000.

In 2002 I created Cape Villas, Africa’s premier Internet Villa Rental agency, in 2008 I created Experience Africa, which is the for runner to FaceBook Travel

Candidates must have strong technical competence as they will be working closely with the product and engineering org at Facebook and must be able to earn their respect.

I really don’t see it myself, but in business circles it’s often mentioned that I remind people of a younger Sir Richard Branson, I never get nervous at meetings and can generally talk anybody into anything so long as I believe in the product.

Having paid for developers to programme websites out of my own pocket, I know what a privilege it will be to work with The FaceBook team. Outside of FaceBook many relationships will be developed. In Cape Villas one of my internet companies, I had up to 38 staff, and was respected by all.

I am an excellent public speaker, on camera I come across as a TV presenter, as can be seen from this presentation, I can change my style of writing to suit the subject, from professional but interesting to fun and entertaining. The latter is seen in the Product Section of this presentation. (This said, my spelling need is weak, can’t be good at everything!)

Ability to meet multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial environment with little supervision

Whilst I crave advise, debate and general brainstorming on all manner of things, I do not need supervision, for the last 11 years, I’ve been the boss in an entrepreneurial environment, managing up to 38 staff, before this in the UK, I was the founder and boss of two record labels, I have worked unsupervised for over 20 years.

Extensive negotiation experience, including comfort with legal aspects of negotiations

I have extensive experience in negotiations with all manner of successful businessmen including billionaires, In particular convincing 40 or so expensive villa owners to give me exclusive rights to book their property.

I have a love hate relationship with the Law, loving the articulation and creativity that goes into great lawyers, but disliking, the law when killers go free, because evidence could not be produced in a trial, and further disliking that lawyers are allowed to represent companies and people who are in the wrong. I advocate improvements in Polygraph technology.

I have been known to spend days reading through case law to better prepare myself legally and have found out from the school of hard knocks, how contracts vaguely worded can lead to argument on even the most unfair of complaints.

While we’re on legal matters, please advice FaceBook Legal to prepare to patent all 20 Travel Advances, everything possible in S-World Virtual World, particularly Teleport to GPS, plus the FaceBook Gifts idea particularly Calendar Automation. (If not already thought of)

It would be irresponsible for me, at this time not to say, all rights to my intellectual property are currently reserved, all ideas and concepts my intellectual property, and further unless I’m shown evidence that an idea has already been considered, it should be presumed by the courts that I was the original creator of the idea.

Further as I can currently can not afford to make any patents it is my understanding that simply sending this proposal to FaceBook acts as a de facto patent. If i am incorrect in this presumption/advice, it is the responsibility of anyone with differing legal opinion to make their objections known to me. A memory stick containing all information has been lodged with 2 patent attorneys.
